Our Story

Helena, Founder and Creative Director

Helena shapes the symbolic language and vision of Copperfield. With a background in religious studies and theology, her work is rooted in a lifelong curiosity about ritual, meaning, and the ways we mark transition in our lives.

She holds a law degree and has worked in business development, which is where the studio's care for how things are made and sold comes from. She designs with attention and reverence, creating forms meant to be worn as more than adornment, as reminders of strength, clarity, and beauty.

David, Founder and Maker

David brings each design into physical form through hand-forged copper and stone. He is Kahnawà:ke Mohawk and Bajan. He learned to work with his hands at home, and the forms he makes are his own.

As a longtime pow wow dancer, he approaches material with rhythm, discipline, and respect. His work is an act of continuity, honouring lineage while shaping something new.

Every piece that leaves Copperfield passes through his hands. No two come out quite the same.

Your jewellery can be more than something worn.
It can mark a threshold.
A remembrance.
A quiet act of devotion to yourself or others.

Jewellery as personal ritual.

Copperfield is an independent jewellery atelier founded by Helena and David. It began from a shared belief, that what we wear becomes part of our presence.

That it can carry intention, and quietly remind us of who we are.

We work in small collections, shaping each piece by hand in copper, stone and crystal. Our inspiration comes from the intelligence found in nature and the architecture of the human body, forms that endure, support, and carry memory.

We are drawn to copper for its strength and the long history it carries across cultures and generations. It is a material that remembers.
